Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies are, what VidYTMP4 uses today, what may change if advertising is added, and how you can control cookies yourself.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and visits — for example, that you are logged in, or what you typed into a form. Closely related technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in a similar way and are covered by this page where relevant. Cookies cannot run programs or spread viruses, and a site can only read the cookies it set itself (or that its partners set on its pages).

What VidYTMP4 uses today

Currently, VidYTMP4 uses only strictly necessary storage:

We do not set our own tracking, analytics or advertising cookies today, and we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of our visitors.

If advertising is added later

VidYTMP4 may in the future display advertising, for example through Google AdSense, to support the cost of running free tools. If that happens:

How you can control cookies

You are in control of cookies through your browser. In every major browser you can:

Look for the privacy or site-settings section of your browser (in Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security; in Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security; in Safari: Settings/Preferences → Privacy). Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause some tool conveniences — such as remembered inputs — to stop working, but the tools themselves will still run.

How long cookies last

Cookies fall into two groups. Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until a set expiry date or until you delete them. The functional storage VidYTMP4 uses today — such as remembering a tool input on your own device — is of the short-lived, convenience kind and contains no advertising identifiers and no information about your activity on other websites.

Changes to this policy

If our cookie use changes — most importantly, if advertising is introduced — we will update this page to describe the new cookies and who sets them before or at the same time as the change takes effect, and we will provide consent controls where the law requires them. Continuing to use the site after such an update means the updated policy applies.

Questions about this policy can be sent via our Contact page. See also our Privacy Policy for how the site handles data more generally.
